Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and personable Host/ Co-Host to join our team. This role involves being both an interviewer and interviewee within a welcoming atmosphere for discussions on mid-life crisis, health and fitness, career pivots, and diversity and inclusion. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, an open-minded approach, a professional appearance, and the ability to handle diverse perspectives with ease. This position is particularly suited for career pivoteers, bilingual communicators, brand builders, and political science majors seeking internships in communications, platform hosting, radio, and panel operations. It presents an opportunity to develop hospitality skills while engaging with a diverse clientele in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre, post and recording production process with extreme attention to detail
• Collaborate on episode planning, including themes, key questions, and desired outcomes.
• Develop thoughtful, structured question lists that encourage insightful and engaging conversation.
• Coordinate with producers and co-hosts to ensure alignment on episode flow, messaging, and tone.
• Prepare talking points and potential follow-up questions tailored to each guest.
• Answer guest inquiries both in person and via phone or digital platforms with professionalism and courtesy
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and waiting area
• Facilitate interviews and panel discussions by asking clear, engaging, and relevant questions.
• Guide the conversation flow, ensuring discussions remain on topic while allowing natural dialogue.
• Actively listen to guests’ responses to generate intelligent, spontaneous follow-up questions.
• Create a comfortable atmosphere that encourages guests to speak openly and confidently.
• Support social media efforts by capturing photos or videos of events or ambiance, utilizing Adobe Photoshop or Premiere as needed
• Maintain an engaging and approachable on-air presence that reflects the podcast’s style and brand.
• Clarify complex ideas for listeners, summarizing or reframing guest responses when helpful.
• Ensure inclusivity and respect, handling sensitive topics with professionalism.
• Assist in creating engaging content for social media platforms to promote the venue’s offerings
• Provide bilingual support if applicable, translating menus or assisting non-English speaking guests as needed

Requirements

• Prior experience in hospitality, customer service, or related fields is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with social media management tools and content creation using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere) is advantageous
• Strong communication skills, including writing and interpretation abilities, are essential
• Experience with video production, editing, and technical writing will be considered a plus
• Bilingual proficiency is highly desirable to serve diverse guest populations effectively
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary, Internship, Freelance

Pay: $20.89 - $25.16 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
