Job Description

The role of the Motion Designer is an incredible opportunity to work with Directive’s award-winning Creative team. You will be responsible for producing content for various client projects, working within the Design department. The ideal candidate will be skilled at creating motion graphics content in After Effects, building engaging assets within brand guidelines, and producing appealing animations that connect with target audiences. You will also engage with clients, providing strategic ideas and consultative feedback.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A robust portfolio of completed motion graphic projects
• Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Suite and additional motion graphics design software such as AfterEffects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, Cinema 4D, Blender, and Animate
• An interest in new technologies and platforms to create motion content, including generative AI platforms
• Superb visual and conceptual skills to solve problems and create novel solutions
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills capable of building designs into a multi-channel strategy
• Ability to fully own a project as well as collaborate within a team
• Strong character animation skills
• Proficiency in Java for After Effects
• 3D motion graphics abilities
• Deadline-driven, organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative demeanor
• Bachelor’s degree in Art, Graphic Design, or a related discipline preferred (but not a deal-breaker)

Responsibilities

As a Motion Designer, you will:

• Assist in designing and creating storyboards, mood boards, and design frames
• Research and analyze best design techniques for motion graphics
• Create engaging animations that meet target objectives
• Manage the entire lifecycle of short-form video creation
• Produce content for various media platforms
• Initiate projects to deliver innovative solutions
• Adhere to brand guidelines while pushing creative boundaries
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand the brand and audience
• Coordinate all production requirements and provide final approval notifications

Work Environment

This role is remote-first with the ability to work from anywhere in the US. For certain positions, global opportunities exist where the company operates (Canada, UK, Australia). Candidates must have established work authorization and reside in that country. The position requires staying stationary for extended periods and having reliable internet access, along with the necessary computer software tools.
