Casting/Female Actress (20s-30s) required for Drama Arthouse Short Film Project [Urgent]

Actress is needed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

We are seeking a female actress in her 20s to 30s for a supporting role in a drama arthouse short film, titled ‘The City That Remembers’. The story follows a young man who returns to a city haunted by memories and encounters fleeting visions of a former girlfriend—your character—who serves as an emotional anchor and mirror to the protagonist. This role is designed for an actress capable of delivering subtle, internal performances with minimal dialogue, relying on emotional awareness and micro-expressions. The film is a surreal, atmospheric character study influenced by European art-house styles and will be shot in a heightened, dreamlike style. The shoot will last 1-2 days in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, and you must be available on site for the full project. Prior experience with short films or experimental cinema is appreciated. The production is a personal project, directed by a filmmaker with international festival recognition.

Who are you, and what do you do?
Born in India, and raised in Malaysia, I displayed a passion for filmmaking and the cinematic arts at an early age. For my Bachelors, I studied in Paris, France at EICAR: The International Film and Television School of Paris for 3 years, then obtained a Masters in Film Studies at the University of Kent: Paris School of Arts and Culture over an additional year. In France, I wrote and directed several short films, with many of them garnering awards and recognition in festivals around the world. Working on these projects gave me great insight into the collaborative process of filmmaking, and furthered my ambitions to write and direct feature length films. I have also gained industry experience through my work as an editor for hire for other independent filmmakers and as a P.A on various feature films and television shows, shot in Berlin, Denmark, France and India. Moving forward, I intend to further develop my skills as a storyteller and keep seeking opportunities to work and collaborate in a professional, industry environment.
