Job Description

Rescue is a full-service marketing agency focused on researching, developing, and implementing positive social change campaigns in public health. We provide services including research, strategy, creative, production, web, traditional media, social media, policy change, youth engagement, and experiential marketing to clients in government, non-profits, and healthcare sectors across over 35 states and provinces. Our health behavior change campaigns tackle issues such as tobacco, obesity, substance prevention, promotion of exercise and healthy eating, early childhood development, and after-school programs, serving diverse populations.

We are looking for a dynamic, high-performing Freelance Web Developer II to lead the development and delivery of complex and accessible web applications that meet client expectations. This role requires adherence to best practices, hands-on development, and strategic collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve superior technical outcomes. This position is remote, available to candidates anywhere in the United States, but requires availability for meetings and communication during the hours of 9am - 5pm PST.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Develop sophisticated, responsive, and functional websites while ensuring alignment with design comps and industry standards.
• Ensure high-performance and maintainability across all assigned projects.
• Build and optimize websites for maximum speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility; troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Conduct thorough quality assurance checks with rigorous testing methods.
• Execute analytics setup and integration, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
• Ensure adherence to WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.
• Implement innovative technologies and methodologies to drive project success from conception to deployment.
• Adhere to best practices in development and project execution.
• Work with Figma design comps and prototypes.
• Collaborate with digital producers, UX/UI designers, and Creative leads to identify strategic opportunities.
• Self-manage project work to deliver on time and within budget, with minimal revisions.

Requirements

Required qualifications include:

• High School Diploma/GED + 2 years relevant experience.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3, and HTML5.
• Experience with Vue.js and Nuxt.js.
• Knowledge of PHP and MySQL.
• Experience with version control (Git) and build tools such as Vite and Webpack.
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure.

Additional Information

Location: Remote in the United States

Status: W2, Part-time, Temporary

Pay Range: $40 - $50 per hour
