Job Description

CBS Stations is looking for a digital producer to create and optimize content for digital platforms in Miami, Atlanta, and Dallas. This role involves writing and editing stories across various topics, reacting to breaking news, clipping and optimizing video for CBSNews.com and YouTube, and executing growth initiatives across platforms. The position requires strong news judgment, detail orientation, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a digital breaking news environment with a proven ability to react quickly as news develops.
• Skilled writer capable of producing quality copy on deadline.
• Experience executing SEO strategies.
• Ability to frame content engagingly for a digital audience.
• Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Omniture, Chartbeat, and Parse.ly.
• Thrives in a collaborative team environment.

Schedule

This role is 32 hours per week, schedule will be Tuesday-Friday from 2:30-11:30 PM, with potential adjustments for holidays and PTO.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Coordinate, produce, and update web coverage of news stories, gathering information from various sources.
• React quickly to breaking news, writing and publishing articles, and running live blogs.
• Clip and optimize videos for CBSNews.com, YouTube, and other platforms, including writing SEO-friendly headlines and descriptions.
• Manage homepages to highlight CBS News and Stations journalism.
• Collaborate with reporters and producers to publish CBS News content online.
• Send push alerts on breaking news and other high-interest stories.
