Job Description
Language On Demand, Inc. is seeking a professional Grand Jury Videographer to support video recording operations for Grand Jury proceedings held by the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO). This role requires on-site attendance, strong technical proficiency, reliability, and the ability to work within a highly confidential federal environment.
Responsibilities
Videography & Technical Operations
- Record all assigned Grand Jury proceedings on-site at federal facilities.
- Set up, test, and operate approved videography equipment before each session.
- Ensure uninterrupted audio and video capture with appropriate backup systems.
- Verify clarity of audio, visibility of speakers, and proper camera placement.
- Maintain a safe setup within the courtroom (cables, equipment stability, etc.).
Data Handling & Secure Transfer
- Label, store, and handle video files according to federal confidentiality requirements.
- Transfer recordings only through authorized secure methods.
- Maintain accurate logs of sessions, timestamps, and file submissions.
- Provide playback or review support to USAO personnel as needed.
Security & Compliance
- Protect all recorded materials as federal property; no external copying or retention.
- Report any technical issues, unauthorized access attempts, or suspected breaches immediately.
- Comply with all DOJ and USAO confidentiality restrictions and security protocols.
Coordination & Professional Conduct
- Confirm assignments within required timelines.
- Work closely with Court Reporters, AUSAs, case staff, and Grand Jury personnel.
- Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and discretion at all times.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain Tier 4 High Risk Public Trust Clearance.
- Experience in professional videography, courtroom recording, or similar work.
- Strong understanding of audio/video equipment setup, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent attention to detail and reliability under time-sensitive conditions.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with legal proceedings, law enforcement environments, or federal agencies.
- Knowledge of secure data handling and government file transfer standards.
- Technical expertise in multi-microphone and multi-camera environments.
Work Environment & Schedule
- On-site only — no remote work permitted due to confidentiality restrictions.
- Locations:
- Dirksen Federal Building (Chicago)
- Roszkowski Courthouse (Rockford)
- Schedule:
- Chicago: Monday – Thursday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Rockford: 2nd & 4th Tuesday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Must be available for extended sessions and time-sensitive recording needs.

Pay: $45.00 - $150.00 per hour
