Job Description

The individual contractor (videographer) will be responsible for filming interview(s) and B-roll of a United Nations Youth Office’s Young Leader for the SDGs in Nagasaki, Japan and surrounding areas. The footage must meet broadcast quality standards and adhere to UN Video’s guidelines, including proper lighting and microphone use. Full rights to all recorded footage will be granted to the United Nations. The contractor will report to the UN Video producer and collaborate on timelines, attend online meetings for shooting specifics, and deliver the footage electronically upon completion.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communication, journalism, video, film, television, or related areas. A High School degree plus two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of a university degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in communication, journalism, video, film, and television or related area.
  • Experience in video filming and editing, proper lighting techniques, and sound recording is required.
  • Experience in filming and producing in international settings is desirable.

Equipment:

  • Must be equipped with a professional video camera (4K desirable), a tripod, portable lighting, and microphones.

Language:

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have a stable internet connection to send videos online.
  • Employment verification letters are required; work samples may also be requested.
