Job Description
We are looking for a talented Mid–Senior Web Developer to join our growing digital team in Wakefield. You’ll play a key role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining our web applications across both the front-end and back-end. This role is ideal for someone passionate about modern web development, with a solid technical foundation and an eye for clean, user-centred design.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop responsive, high-performance front-end features using React and JavaScript.
- Build and maintain secure, scalable back-end services using PHP and Node.js.
- Work with SQL Server to design, query, and optimise relational databases.
- Collaborate with designers, product owners, and stakeholders to refine user journeys.
- Contribute to UI/UX discussions and help shape intuitive user interfaces.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team stand-ups.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing applications.
- Ensure best practices in performance, security, and maintainability.
Requirements
- 3–6+ years commercial web development experience.
- Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Solid back-end experience with both PHP and Node.js.
- Experience working with SQL Server (stored procedures, optimisation, schema design).
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and modern development workflows.
- Familiarity with version control (Git).
- Ability to work on-site in Wakefield three days per week.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable (Nice to Have)
- Experience or interest in UI/UX design.
- Knowledge of TypeScript.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Location: Wakefield, UK (must be within a commutable distance)
