Job Description

The Photo and Video Specialist captures and produces high-quality photo and video assets that support Palisades Tahoe’s brand storytelling and business priorities. This role involves planning shoots, capturing content in the field, editing deliverables, and maintaining an organized asset library. Work is executed with consideration to channel requirements, campaign timelines, and usage goals to ensure each asset meets the intended purpose.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Produce content aligned with brand standards and business priorities.
  • Plan and execute shoots considering intended channel specs and campaign needs.
  • Capture daily and campaign-based content encompassing various themes.
  • Edit and assemble final content ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Deliver assets in multiple formats with correct configurations.
  • Maintain production standards in winter environments.
  • Direct subjects during shoots to capture authentic moments.
  • Coordinate shoot logistics efficiently.
  • Organize and archive content using established practices.
  • Maintain and operate production equipment effectively.
  • Track assignments and communicate progress with stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on content trends and production tools.
  • Support real-time capture and editing needs.

  • Strong storytelling ability through still and motion content.
  • Advanced capturing skills in winter resort environments.
  • Post-production abilities including editing and color correction.
  • Ability to deliver cohesive content sets under varying specs.
  • Organized approach to content management.
  • Effective time management and deadline adherence.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in changing outdoor environments.
  • Flexible schedule availability for resort operations.

Physical Requirements

The role requires regular walking, standing, and the ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs. Employees must be capable of balancing, climbing, and enduring extreme weather conditions during work.

Working Conditions

Employees will often work outdoors and be exposed to variable weather conditions including extreme cold. Noise levels in the workplace are usually moderate. Equipment used includes professional cameras, Mac/PC, and standard office equipment.

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, video, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and technical skills in video/audio capture.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating action and lifestyle content.
  • Proficient in both Mac and PC environments.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Ski industry or outdoor/action sports experience.
  • Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability.
  • Drone experience and FAA Part 107 certification.
  • Familiarity with Palisades Tahoe terrain and events.
  • AIRE 1 certification and backcountry experience.

Salary and Benefits

The base hourly pay range is $22.96 - $32.14 per hour, with variations based on experience, education, and other factors. Benefits include free skiing privileges, healthcare options, discounts on outdoor gear, a 401(k) plan with company match, and employee assistance programs.
