Job Description

At Wizards of the Coast, we connect people around the world through play and imagination. We’re looking for a Lead Visual Designer to develop Play Tools for D&D Beyond, enhancing immersive player experiences in the iconic world of Dungeons & Dragons. This role offers a unique opportunity to build intuitive tools that unlock the magic of D&D for millions of players and Dungeon Masters globally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop UX solutions for D&D Beyond, understanding product design, systems design, UI style, layout, typography, color, usability, and interaction design.
  • Scope, plan, and independently deliver design projects; proactively identify, communicate, and solve issues affecting work quality.
  • Deliver varying levels of design artifacts including strategy frameworks, research results, journey maps, flows, wireframes, high-fidelity comps, and style guides.
  • Break down experiences thoughtfully to ship incremental value, making intentional trade-offs towards optimal player impact.

Qualifications

  • A degree in UX Design, Art, Information Architecture, or a related design field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Portfolio or case study of interactive design work showcasing excellent design sensibilities and craft skills.
  • Strong art direction background with experience in style guides and design systems using Figma or similar tools.
  • Hands-on expertise in responsive web design and familiarity with mobile app patterns.
  • Ability to think conceptually in both visual and interface design, offering a unique perspective on design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable using data to inform design decisions, even with incomplete data.
  • A growth mindset for continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with design systems for multichannel products with multi-brand architecture.
  • Passion for D&D and tabletop RPGs.
  • Experience in both product design and marketing contexts.
  • Background in designing and shipping within the games industry.

Additional Details

Please note that this is a temporary assignment providing services to Wizards through an external staffing agency. If selected, you will be employed by Eastridge as a W2 employee, not directly by Wizards.

  • Employment Type: Temporary
  • Location: Fully Remote
  • Duration: 6 months with a possibility to extend to 12 months

The hourly pay range for this role is $90.00 to $125.00, varying based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
