Job Description

The Pro Workflow (PWF) team, part of Apple’s Hardware Engineering organization, collaborates with creative domain experts and computer system architects to drive innovation and enhance the creative capabilities of products like iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The team focuses on understanding how demanding creative customers utilize Apple products and uses these insights to develop improved features.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with system architects to identify creative use cases affected by hardware performance.
  • Contributing to the process of establishing and validating hardware performance targets for creative applications.
  • Engaging in research and development of new creative capabilities.
  • Leading cross-functional efforts to enhance performance and introduce new features.
  • Staying updated on current and next-generation hardware, software, and workflows in the media and entertainment sectors.
  • Creating and presenting status reports and project outcomes to peers and executive leadership.
  • Establishing technical engagements with key external developers and strategic customers.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in specification, design, and configuration of relevant software, hardware, and peripherals.
  • Proven ability to design innovative workflows and implement them in production environments.
  • Eagerness to acquire new technical knowledge and skills.
  • Experience in debugging and resolving workflow issues independently and with a team.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects over extended timelines.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills; capable of inspiring team members and effectively presenting information to diverse audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in sound design, music creation, game audio, live sound, audio production, or post-production.
  • Demonstrated success as a creative contributor in music, film, television, live events, immersive media, or social media production.
