Job Description

The Contract Videographer/Editor will capture and edit digital series content, primarily focusing on YouTube formats and short-form derivatives. This role is ideal for a seasoned shooter-editor who owns professional gear and understands current digital series and YouTube trends.

Responsibilities

• Film on location and in studio with your own camera, audio, and lighting gear
• Set up and manage lighting, composition, and audio for interviews and run-and-gun shoots
• Edit episodes and cutdowns for YouTube, reels/shorts, and other digital platforms
• Handle post-production including rough cuts, final cuts, basic color correction, and sound sweetening
• Create simple motion graphics, lower thirds, and end cards as needed
• Optimize pacing, hooks, and structure for YouTube watch time and retention
• Deliver exports in platform-specific formats and manage file organization and backups
• Collaborate with producer/project manager on shot lists, schedules, and delivery timelines

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional videography and editing experience (agency, brand, television or creator work)
• Strong portfolio or reel, including YouTube series or digital-first projects
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar NLE); familiarity with After Effects and/or DaVinci Resolve a plus
• Up-to-date understanding of YouTube formats, thumbnails, hooks, and current digital series trends
• Owns or regularly accesses professional camera, audio, and lighting gear (e.g., Sony, Canon, or Blackmagic cinema/DSLR setups)
• Reliable transportation for local Knoxville shoots
• Highly organized, responsive, and comfortable working on tight timelines
