Job Description
Mercor is hiring Open Source Developers to support a high-impact engineering initiative focused on reviewing, maintaining, and troubleshooting live repositories. This role is ideal for experienced contributors who understand open-source workflows, complex Git operations, and real-world repository management.
Requirements
• An open-source developer or maintainer with experience contributing to and reviewing code in active repositories.
• Comfortable reasoning about Git at a deep, technical level.
• Skilled in debugging repository states and repairing broken commit histories without data loss.
• Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of software engineering experience in open-source, backend development, or DevOps.
- Demonstrated contributions on GitHub, GitLab, or other OSS platforms.
- (Bonus) Experience in code review, open-source governance, or AI/LLM model evaluation.
