Composer Wanted — Short Film Tethered (Minimal Guitar Score)

I’m seeking a composer for a short film titled “Tethered,” and I’m interested in building a long-term creative collaboration, not just filling a one-off role. The film is a dialogue-driven psychological drama about a private confrontation between a musician and his manager or partner, set in a backstage greenroom. The story is focused on subtle tension, silence, and inner emotions, rather than action or plot. I am looking for a composer who shares my taste for restraint and process, and who is open to close creative collaboration. The score should feature minimal, textural guitar – not melodic or guitar-forward, but more atmospheric and human. The use of music should be psychological, present but restrained, with an emphasis on atmosphere, subtlety, and the interplay between sound and silence. Influences include cues from Brokeback Mountain, as well as the music from Chernobyl and Arrival. The total score will be about 4–8 minutes, thoughtfully placed throughout the film. The ideal collaborator values trust, process, and creative chemistry. The film is currently in post-production, and collaboration can begin as soon as the composer is identified. I hope to find someone for ongoing work in future projects as well.

I’m a NYC-based writer, director, and producer focused on intimate, character-driven films. My work is restrained and psychological, with an emphasis on performance, silence, and moral tension rather than plot or spectacle.
I have a slate of finished and planned short films, as well as a slate of half a dozen feature screenplays written. I’m intentionally building long-term creative relationships and am looking for collaborators who value taste, process, and creative chemistry. I believe the strongest work comes from shared language, trust, and thoughtful iteration.
