Job Description

CBS News and Stations, a leader in news broadcasting, is seeking a freelance photographer/editor for CBS 13 and the independent 31 in West Sacramento, California. The ideal candidate will enhance storytelling through visual techniques and must possess over three years of television news experience. Applications are only accepted from those with a television news background.

Requirements

• 3 years of television experience covering breaking news, features, and sports.
• Sound journalistic judgment.
• Passion for visual storytelling.
• Excellent lighting skills.
• Deadline oriented.
• Proficient in non-linear editing.
• Experience operating microwave, bonded-cellular packs, and/or satellite trucks.
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work any shift.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Additional Information

Hiring Salary Range: $27.90 - $31.46.

The salary range applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other locations. Starting pay will depend on various job-related factors including location, market demands, experience, training, and education. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance, disability, tuition assistance, and PTO, as dictated by the relevant Collective Bargaining Agreement.
