Job Description

A unique opportunity is available for a talented animator to create an original cartoon-style music video for a Seattle-based music project. The video will be character-driven, featuring a clear storyline and storyboard that aligns with the power pop and post-punk style of the music. The ideal candidate will bring a distinctive artistic vision, ensuring the animation complements the energy and theme of the EP release. This project is remote and offers the potential for future collaborations based on the success of this initial video.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a complete cartoon-style music video based on provided storyboards and musical themes.
• Design and animate unique characters that reflect the project’s artistic direction.
• Collaborate closely with the musician to ensure the animation aligns with the music’s tone and narrative.
• Deliver a polished, high-quality final video suitable for online release and promotion.
• Incorporate feedback and revisions as needed to achieve the desired creative outcome.
• Manage project timelines to meet agreed-upon deadlines.

Requirements

• Proven experience in 2D animation, particularly in cartoon or character-driven music videos.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating original art style and storytelling ability.
• Proficiency with industry-standard animation software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Toon Boom, or similar).
• Ability to interpret and visually represent musical themes and narratives.
• Excellent communication skills and responsiveness in a remote work environment.
• Creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach to animation projects.
• Availability to start promptly and commit to project deadlines.
• Experience working with musicians or in the music industry is a plus.
