Job Description

Seeking a local freelance content creator to capture photo and video content for a Shreveport-based business directory. This role focuses on creating short-form social media content and visual assets for editorial and website use, emphasizing efficient on-site filming, clean edits, and consistent delivery rather than highly produced or cinematic content. The position requires on-site filming and photography at local businesses, with shoots typically limited to 30–45 minutes, along with light editing and exporting of content for social media and website use. Participation in a weekly 30-minute check-in meeting is included in the hourly time allocation.

Responsibilities

• Capture short-form vertical video and photos at local businesses (restaurants, brunch spots, small businesses)
• Record short, casual video interviews with business owners or employees using a smartphone (when applicable)
• Edit content using Canva Pro into:
• Instagram Reels (15–60 seconds)
• Carousel-ready visuals (video and/or photos)
• Add captions/subtitles to video content
• Assist with draft captions or caption ideas as needed (final posting handled internally)
• Coordinate shoot times directly with business owners using a provided content calendar
• Deliver organized, ready-to-post content on schedule

Tools & Requirements

• Proficient in Canva Pro for:
• Video editing (Reels)
• Carousel creation
• Light graphic formatting
• Captions/subtitles
• Familiar with Instagram and Facebook content formats
• Able to export vertical content optimized for social media
• Has own smartphone capable of recording high-quality video (camera is a plus but not required)

Content Focus

• Restaurants, brunch spots, and local businesses
• Business owners and occasionally employees
• Posting cadence: 2–3 posts per week
• Content may be reused across social platforms and website/editorial content.
