Position Opening: Gospel Organist

Good News Missionary Baptist Church - Tracy, California

Good News Missionary Baptist Church is seeking a skilled, open-minded, and creative Gospel Organist to join our music ministry. The ideal candidate will be musically strong, collaborative, and passionate about supporting worship through excellence.

Schedule:

• Sunday Worship Service: 10:00 AM – approximately 11:30 AM / 12:00 PM
• Rehearsal: Tuesdays at 6:30 PM (1–2 hours)

Responsibilities:

• Providing organ accompaniment for Sunday worship services
• Collaborating effectively with the drummer, bassist, and a small choir
• Participating in weekly rehearsals and contributing creatively to worship music
• Help with setting up and maintaining musical equipment and sheet music
• Participate in rehearsals to learn and improve musical skills under guidance
• Provide mentorship and encouragement to choir members and aspiring musicians
• Collaborate with church leadership to ensure seamless musical worship experiences
• Foster a welcoming environment that promotes teamwork, leadership, and spiritual growth

Requirements

• Experience or background in teaching music or leading musical groups is preferred
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor others
• Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and congregation
• Passion for music, church service, and community involvement
• Ability to work collaboratively within a faith-based environment
• Willingness to learn new skills related to organ/piano playing and choir direction
