Job Description

You will transform existing flat artwork (PSD/AI layered files of a mascot) into fully rigged, high-quality puppets for Adobe Character Animator. These puppets will be utilized for:

  • Zoom interviews and live streaming
  • Explainer and promotional videos
  • Social media content

This role is highly creative but requires technical precision in rigging, triggers, and expressive animation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience rigging and animating in Adobe Character Animator
  • Strong skills with Photoshop/Illustrator (PSD/AI layer prep)
  • Understanding of puppet rigging best practices (handles, behaviors, triggers)
  • Ability to provide examples of previously rigged 2D puppets (portfolio required)
  • Strong communication and ability to deliver on deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Convert flat character artwork (PSD/AI/JPG) into layered Adobe Character Animator puppets
  • Rig body, face, and accessories for natural and expressive animation
  • Create and refine lip-sync visemes (mouth shapes)
  • Add custom triggers and behaviors (blinking, head turns, gestures, expressions, accessories)
  • Ensure puppet is compatible with live Zoom integration and pre-recorded video workflows
  • Collaborate on creative direction for Renny’s expressions, personality, and movement

Nice to Have (Bonus Skills)

  • Experience with After Effects or Toon Boom Harmony
  • Experience creating multiple expression sets for mascots/characters
  • Knowledge of audio syncing and voice integration workflows
  • Interest in brand character development
