Job Description

Urgent requirement for a Java Developer with L3 Support on a contract basis based in Sydney. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing Java applications, as well as managing incidents and improving application stability.

Requirements

Must Have:

• 6-9 years of experience in Core Java.
• Exposure to Unix troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in one of the following scripting languages: Shell script, Perl, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience with one of the following RDBMS environments: Sybase ASE/IQ, Oracle, or DB2.
• Good communication skills to articulate technical and functional aspects of development problems.
• Problem-solving experience in a development or production environment, including analyzing root causes and suggesting resolutions.

Good to Have:

• Knowledge of GS-specific skills - Slang & SecDB.
• Experience in the Financial Service Industry.

Responsibilities of the Role

• Design, develop, and test Java applications using frameworks such as Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Collaborate with team members to analyze and resolve application issues.
• Identify defects and trends through code debugging and log analysis.
• Manage incidents and communicate effectively with users and stakeholders.
• Enhance application stability and performance by observing patterns and recurring issues.
• Work with the AppBank Engineering team to automate alerts and processes.
• Challenge existing application setups and suggest improvements.
• Participate in the change management process to manage risk in the production environment.
• Develop run books to minimize operational errors.
• Create reports to track and manage application health and service performance.
• Willingness to learn and support proprietary technologies.
• Availability for weekend support on a rotational basis.

Additional Information

Duration: 6 Months with the possibility of extension.
