Job Description

We are urgently seeking a Java Developer with L3 Support experience for a contract position in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing Java applications, as well as troubleshooting and resolving application issues within a production environment.

Requirements

Must Have:

• 6-9 years of experience in Core Java
• Exposure to Unix troubleshooting
• Proficiency in one of the following scripting languages: Shell script, Perl, JavaScript, or Python
• Experience with one of the following RDBMS environments: Sybase ASE/IQ, Oracle, or DB2
• Strong communication skills to articulate technical and functional aspects to App Dev teams and senior stakeholders
• Problem-solving experience in a development or production environment, including root cause analysis and resolution

Good to Have:

• Knowledge of GS-specific skills - Slang & SecDB
• Experience in the Financial Service Industry

Responsibilities of the Role

• Design, develop, and test Java applications using frameworks such as Java, Spring, and Hibernate
• Collaborate with team members to analyze and resolve application issues
• Identify defects and trends through code debugging or log analysis
• Manage incidents and effectively communicate with users and stakeholders
• Improve application stability by identifying patterns and advising on permanent fixes
• Automate alerts/processes in collaboration with the AppBank Engineering team
• Challenge existing processes and suggest improvements for application stability
• Participate in change management to manage risk in production environments
• Build and improve run books to minimize operational errors
• Develop reports for trending statistics to track application health
• Willingness to learn and troubleshoot proprietary technologies
• Availability for weekend support on a rotational basis with appropriate compensatory time off

Additional Information

Duration: 6 months with possible extension.
