Job Title: Software Engineer, eCommerce Applications

Department: Ecommerce

Reports To: Manager, Commerce Applications

Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid)

SVP Worldwide is the world’s largest consumer sewing machine company, home to brands like SINGER®, HUSQVARNA VIKING®, PFAFF®, and CREATIVATE. We are seeking a Software Engineer with deep expertise in the Shopify ecosystem to build scalable e-commerce solutions and address technical challenges in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Leverage Shopify ecosystem expertise to build, customize, and optimize storefronts and backend integrations.
• Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Build and maintain custom Shopify apps using Shopify’s API.
• Integrate advanced Shopify apps like Rebuy, Boost, and Klaviyo.
• Collaborate with different teams for implementing dynamic UI/UX features.
• Develop and maintain API integrations with third-party services.
• Optimize performance across platforms, focusing on site speed and SEO.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Shopify issues.
• Maintain high standards in code quality, testing, and documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience with a proven portfolio.
• Deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem, including best practices.
• Advanced knowledge of:
• Shopify theme development using Liquid
• JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Experience with Shopify Plus features.
• Integration experience with leading Shopify apps.
• Familiarity with modern JS frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular).
• Comfortable with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Understanding of eCommerce metrics and CRO strategies.
• Growth mindset and strong debugging skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.

Nice to Have (Bonus Skills)

• Experience building custom Shopify apps using Node.js or Remix.
• Strong grasp of technical SEO and eCommerce performance optimization.
• Familiarity with authentication protocols and SSO providers.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with backend technologies like .NET or Java.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move about inside the office and remain stationary for 50% of the time.
• Required to retrieve or reposition products weighing up to 50 pounds.
