Job Description
DPH has migrated its primary server environment to the State IT Data Center, and additional remediation efforts are required to segment the framework and upgrade to newer operating systems. The team will ensure systems are set up according to industry best practices to comply with federal and state regulations and maintain business continuity. The individuals in this role will focus on modernizing legacy computer systems, modifying systems for upgrade compatibility, meeting security standards, and assisting with application evaluation and build specifications. The position emphasizes supporting administrative systems in a collaborative team environment.
Key responsibilities include participating in system remediation projects, performing complex programming functions, modernization of legacy systems to ASP.Net MVC or CORE, and ensuring maximum system uptime for critical components. The position requires adherence to security standards, preparation of system documentation, and collaboration with team members to align solutions with strategic business objectives. The role may require flexible hours, especially during system rollouts.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience with ASP MVC Framework
- 5+ years of experience with C#
- 5+ years of experience with Visual Studio
- 5+ years of experience with .NET Framework
- 5+ years of experience with SQL
- 3+ years of experience with DB2
Preferred Skills:
- Version source code (TFS, GIT)
- Admin system experience related to HR practices, financial billing, and data security (PI, PHI)
Soft Skills:
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with technical staff, customers, and others involved in data-centric management.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Additional Information
This position is being created due to increased workload and the need for additional resources for the ongoing remediation efforts. Candidates will work closely with the Administration Applications Section Manager to identify and prioritize workloads and ensure implementation aligns with IT standards and procedures. Issues have arisen in the past regarding misleading information on resumes, changing work schedules post-hire, and ensuring valid work visas for the duration of the project.
