Job Description

Middletown United Methodist Church is seeking an Audio Video Engineer to manage audio/video needs during Sunday morning services at their primary campus, which includes both traditional and contemporary services. Responsibilities encompass FOH mixing, presentation, audio/video streaming, and leading volunteer teams. The role reports to the communications director and may offer additional opportunities based on skills and availability. This is a part-time, hourly paid position requiring at least 5 hours every Sunday morning and involvement in special holidays and events throughout the year.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related field
• Experience mixing live bands
• Collaborative self-starter (thrives both individually and as a team)
• Leadership qualities including humility, flexibility, excellent communication, reliability, a desire to learn, and a vision to grow
• Ability to represent the vision and values of Middletown UMC to the community and congregation members
• Must be able to lift 20-25 lbs
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
• A great multi-tasker

Job Duties

• Front of House Live Sound Mixing (Yamaha and Behringer digital boards)
• Live video and audio streaming (OBS, PTZ cameras)
• Sound system setup and configuration, along with basic troubleshooting and repair
• ProPresenter setup and operation
• Basic video editing and website updates (uploading weekly sermon podcasts)
• Scheduling, recruiting, and training volunteers
• Leading multiple volunteer teams
• Collaborating with the Communications Director and working closely with pastoral staff, administrative staff, worship staff, musicians, and volunteers
• Photography and/or video production skills are a plus

Hours and Compensation

• Sundays from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm; special worship services including Christmas Eve, Holy Week, and Easter; and occasional concerts and events on weekends (approx. 5-6 events per year).
• Unpaid time off up to 3 Sundays per year is available (excluding holidays), provided coverage has been prearranged.
• Compensation is $20-22/hour based on experience.
• Opportunities for extra projects and video production are available as desired.
