Job Description

The South Carolina Department of Public Health (S.C. DPH) is seeking a contractor for a new role within their data visualization systems team. The position involves analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, implementation, modification, and upgrading of computer systems that support health services, focusing on the integration and monitoring of backend processes. The contractor will mentor junior developers and develop advanced data visualization products, including a dashboard for intangible asset tracking to support executive decision-making and auditing efforts. Additionally, the role requires creating documentation, workflow diagrams, and operational dashboard enhancements as requested by agency leadership.

Daily Duties/Responsibilities

1. Collaborate in a team to implement, maintain, and provide technical support for applications, ensuring seamless integration with EDM and GIS.

2. Communicate and collaborate with data analysts and program areas for effective data visualization.

3. Develop and maintain dynamic dashboard reporting and data connections for health information systems.

4. Prepare and maintain system documentation for supported applications.

5. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

Required Skills

1. 3+ years of experience with Power BI

2. 3+ years of experience with technical documentation

3. 1+ year of experience with Project Management

4. 1+ year of experience with Data Modeling

Preferred Skills

1. Experience with Graphic Design

2. Experience with Python

3. Experience with SQL

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
