RHEL 9 Firewall Engineer – Enable Perplexity.ai Uploads + CLI PrototypeUrgent
We operate RHEL 9 servers with strict egress controls using iptables and a default DROP policy. While Perplexity.ai is browsable, uploads fail, likely due to missing allowances for Cloudflare-backed endpoints. We need a senior Linux and network security engineer to analyze outbound traffic during upload attempts, identify the required domains, IPs, and CIDRs, and develop a minimal, auditable, and secure outbound firewall ruleset that enables uploads but maintains strict controls. The scope includes implementing a command line prototype compatible with Perplexity.ai that supports file uploads as a validation tool. The project is short-term (3–5 days) and must deliver a robust, well-documented solution suitable for enterprise use.
