Job Description

The position is for a Senior SQL Developer / Tester, duration of 6+ months, located in Richmond, VA. This is a hybrid role, with local candidates strongly advised to apply. The Investment Decision Support (IDS) team seeks experienced SQL development and testing expertise to assist with ongoing business initiatives. The IDS team oversees all aspects of the data management life cycle and connects data to investment analysis.

The scope of work includes overall SQL support (development, performance tuning, testing, documentation) for quarterly projects and other efforts, with activities such as developing SQL procedures, implementing ETL packages with SSIS, performance tuning existing SQL queries, and testing reports and workflows.

Requirements

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in SQL database development and programming
• 3+ years in a QA/testing role
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services
• Experience writing technical documentation (requirements, process maps, etc.)
• Excellent communicator with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation
• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
• Demonstrated experience working independently with only high-level guidance

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Experience with automation tools such as Power Automate
• Experience with data governance best practices/procedures
• Investment/financial market industry experience

Must have:

• 5 years of experience with SQL database development and programming
• 3 years of experience with QA/testing
• 3 years of experience with SSIS
• 3 years of experience with writing technical documentation
• 1 year of experience with automation tools such as Power Automate
