Job Description

9miles Media is a creative video agency producing brand films, testimonials, commercials, UGC content, explainers, and short-form social media videos for clients nationwide. We are looking to build a long-term relationship with a Videographer based in Downtown Raleigh, NC. This role supports our team during on-site video productions, focused on working as a second shooter/camera operator. Editing opportunities may be available but are not required. This is a freelance, project-based position with regular travel based on production needs.

Requirements

Production-Focused Responsibilities:

• Support on-site video productions as a second shooter/camera operator
• Operate 9miles Media-provided camera, audio, and lighting equipment
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and production execution
• Capture high-quality footage following shot lists and creative direction
• Work closely with Production Leads and crew members
• Represent 9miles Media professionally in client-facing environments
• Follow production timelines, workflows, and quality standards

Production Schedule Expectations:

• Half-day productions: typically 4–5 hours
• Full-day productions: typically 8–10 hours
• Engagements are scheduled based on project needs and communicated in advance
• Travel time may be required depending on production location

Required Skills:

• Comfortable in a supporting/second-shooter role
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and prepared on set
• Strong communication skills and professionalism
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly for productions
• Able to work on an as-needed, project-based schedule

Experience:

• At least 2 years of professional experience
• Experience with slider and gimbal
• Drone experience is a plus (FAA Part 107 Drone License)
• Experience capturing still photography is a plus
• Professional sound recording experience is a plus
• Knowledge and experience as a video editor is a big plus!
• Knowledge and experience of working with businesses and corporations in a professional setting is a big plus!

Compensation

• $20–$45 per hour, based on experience and role
• Rates and scope are communicated per engagement
