Job Description

At Float4, we are seeking motivated and experienced 2D motion designers for freelance positions in Montreal, QC. As a 2D Motion Designer, you’ll collaborate with an industry-leading team of creatives and technologists on high-visibility international projects, crafting dynamic and visually compelling motion graphics across various digital platforms. You will work closely under the supervision of senior creative team members, responsible for producing high-quality motion graphics that align with project visions for events, interactive installations, and more.

Responsibilities

• Animate 2D graphics to produce high-quality motion content.
• Ensure strong quality and consistency of work across deliverables.
• Manage tasks on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality motion graphics.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate feedback and find solutions.
• Adhere to brand guidelines and project briefs while fostering innovative approaches to enhance and expand quality.
• Collaborate with developers and integrators to incorporate motion into the final display.
• Communicate task status to your team to ensure deadlines are met and to address any roadblocks.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• DEC or BA in design, motion, animation, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Motion Designer or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your motion graphics work.
• Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, color theory, and composition.
• Experience working with and editing to music.
• Proficient in industry software such as After Effects, Deadline, Premiere, and Creative Suite.
• Experience working in non-traditional formats such as immersive environments and large display formats.
• Skills in traditional animation are a plus.
• Familiarity with project management tools like Asana and Shotgrid.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
