Job Description

HAUS is the world’s first integrated public relations and creative services agency purpose-built for deep tech startups and scaleups. They are seeking an experienced freelance 2D Animator to create high-impact animations, develop visual storytelling, and collaborate with clients and account teams to deliver engaging content for various platforms. This position is remote and open to candidates in the USA.

Responsibilities

Create High-Impact 2D Animations: Lead the creation of engaging animations and motion graphics for deep tech client campaigns across social media, web, and presentation formats. Craft visually compelling content that makes complex technologies accessible and exciting.

Visual Storytelling & Technical Communication: Develop animated explainer videos and visual narratives that translate dense technical concepts into clear, engaging stories without sacrificing accuracy or nuance.

Motion Graphics & Brand Systems: Design and animate motion graphics for client presentations, pitch decks, and marketing materials. Develop animation guidelines and motion design systems that ensure consistency across client brands.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work directly with account teams and clients to storyboard and conceptualize animation projects. Present concepts, incorporate feedback efficiently, and guide projects from initial concept through final delivery.

Platform-Optimized Content: Create animated content optimized for various platforms, adapting pacing, format, and style to maximize engagement across different contexts.

Requirements

Passion for Deep Tech: Must have a genuine curiosity about the technologies clients are building.

Portfolio Excellence: Strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing sophisticated 2D animation, motion graphics, and visual storytelling.

Software Proficiency: Expert proficiency in Adobe After Effects and other 2D animation software, with understanding of the full animation pipeline.

Animation Fundamentals: Strong command of animation principles including timing, spacing, easing, and visual hierarchy.

Technical Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging animations for non-technical audiences.

Client Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to present work, articulate creative decisions, and manage feedback from multiple stakeholders.

Self-Direction & Reliability: Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and communicate proactively without needing hand-holding.

Experience with: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro; familiarity with Cinema 4D, Blender, or other 3D software; frame-by-frame animation techniques; sound design and audio integration; illustration or graphic design skills; creating content for social media platforms.
