Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Software Engineer with 7+ years of experience and TS/SCI w/Poly clearance. This role involves developing and maintaining software services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, documenting, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems based on requirements. The candidate will work individually or as part of a team, review and test software components, resolve software issues, and utilize software design methodologies appropriate to the environment.

Requirements

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Recent software development experience using Python
• Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for deploying orchestration
• Experience performing troubleshooting and debugging in operational systems
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools like Netbox
• Familiarity with Observability and Analytics platforms such as Splunk
• Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions like Keycloak
• Familiarity with Secret Management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
• Familiarity with Message Brokers such as Kafka
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar programs and contracts
• OR Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline plus seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar programs and contracts
• OR Nine (9) years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar programs and contracts

Salary Information

The projected compensation range for this position is $234K to $241K annually. Salary is determined based on various factors including location, education, skills, and relevant experience.
