Job Description

Our client, a cutting-edge digital agency at the forefront of interactive and immersive technology, is looking for a talented Senior UX/UI Designer to join their vibrant team in Vancouver, British Columbia, CA. This role is perfect for a creative visionary with a passion for crafting exceptional user experiences across virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) platforms. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the user journey for innovative applications and experiences, translating complex ideas into intuitive and engaging interfaces.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in user-centered design principles, a keen eye for aesthetics, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by immersive technologies. As a Senior UX/UI Designer, your responsibilities will include conducting user research, creating user personas, defining user flows, and developing wireframes and interactive prototypes for VR/AR/MR applications.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and 3D artists to ensure a seamless integration of design and functionality. Crafting visually appealing and contextually relevant interfaces that enhance user immersion and engagement will be central to your work. You will be expected to advocate for the user, translating their needs and behaviors into design solutions that are both innovative and practical. This role also involves staying abreast of the latest trends in VR/AR/MR design, interaction paradigms, and human-computer interaction within immersive environments. You will contribute to design system development, establish style guides, and ensure consistency across multiple platforms. Conducting usability testing and iterating on designs based on feedback will be a crucial part of the design process.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in UX/UI design, with a significant focus on interactive or immersive experiences (VR/AR/MR).

A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional UX/UI design skills, particularly in 3D environments.

Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Unity’s UI Toolkit, or similar.

Understanding of 3D design principles and spatial computing concepts.

Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.

Excellent visual design capabilities, with a strong sense of typography, color, and layout.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers and 3D artists.

Strong communication and presentation skills, able to articulate design decisions clearly.

Experience with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine is a plus.

Passion for emerging technologies and a proactive approach to learning new tools and techniques.
