Job Description

This is a freelance full-time hours project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 4 – 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. The NBC Sports On Air Graphics Team is looking for a freelance full-time staff broadcast motion graphics designer for its rapidly growing portfolio of live sports properties and studio shows. You will be responsible for hands-on production of ground-up broadcast motion design work, updating existing elements and templates for properties such as Sunday Night Football, NBA, Premier League, College Football, and more. Essential tools for this role include After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Cinema 4D. A collaborative and engaging spirit is crucial for success in this role, as well as a strong sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Work closely with the Emmy-awarded NBC Sports Creative team.
• Create graphic and animated elements including in-game insert and interstitial graphics, show packages, opens, and titles.
• Effectively communicate concepts and ideas to the Art Director and design team.
• Manage multiple packages and projects simultaneously while ensuring consistency with the overall graphic package.
• Interface and collaborate with multiple producers and departments under tight deadlines.

Requirements

Qualifications and experience required:

• College graduate with a degree in graphic design or fine arts.
• Minimum of 5 years experience working at a network or broadcast design agency.
• Understanding of the implementation of design elements in network television and live sports environments.
• Passion for show packaging and knowledge of current trends in graphic design.
• Strong concept and storyboard design skills.
• Strong design and typography skills.
• Strong understanding of motion theory.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, flexible, deadline-driven, and a good collaborator.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
• Extensive knowledge of Maxon Cinema 4D including modeling, texturing, lighting, animating, MoGraph, render optimization, etc.
• Passion for sports is a plus.
