Job Description

Monk Fidelity Sound Lab is a private, project-based creative studio focused on artist development and intentional music-making. The studio emphasizes a holistic approach to creating cohesive EPs and full-length albums while treating single-song sessions as critical building blocks in an artist’s career. The team is developing a community of producers and engineers dedicated to the craft and the studio’s reputation, primarily working across Pop, R&B, Electronic, Alternative, and experimental styles.

We are looking to bring in 1–2 dedicated creative partners to collaborate in a “team-first” manner, prioritizing the client’s vision and the studio’s identity.

Requirements

• Low-Ego / High-Reliability: Must leave ego at the door to serve the song, the client, and the studio while being professional and communicative.
• Tracking & Engineering Foundation: Deep knowledge of signal flow with the ability to prep, tune, and edit vocals while maintaining the artist’s essence.
• Composition-Minded: Understanding of arrangement and songwriting, not just short loops.
• Versatility: Comfort working across various genres (Pop, R&B, Synth-driven, etc.).
• Intentionality: Especially relevant for Hip-Hop, focusing on the experimental, soulful, or lyrically-driven aspects.

Responsibilities

• Execute the Vision: Produce, record, edit, and mix projects while maintaining high standards regardless of project size.
• High-Level Tracking: Lead recording sessions with a client-first mentality, demonstrating expertise in tracking vocals and instruments.
• Collaborate: Assist artists in developing sound, direction, and vocal identity during recording.
• Compose: Contribute original production using hardware, software, and live instrumentation.
• Maintain the Standard: Organize sessions and uphold a professional, high-end workflow.
• Build the Ecosystem: Nurture relationships and bring aligned clients to grow business within the studio.

Compensation & Structure

• Session-Based Income: Competitive hourly or day rate for engineering, tracking, and vocal production sessions.
• Production & Flat-Rate Projects: Rates for full productions or exclusive buyouts set collaboratively with the studio.
• The Studio’s Role: Monk Fidelity acts as a creative partner and facilitator, managing outreach and business side, allowing you to focus on music.
