About the Team: The TikTok Design Team focuses on delivering exceptional user experiences for millions of users globally. The team is composed of multidisciplinary designers working in collaboration with Product, Engineering, Data, and Operations to tackle complex challenges and create intuitive experiences.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of AI effects creation including ideation, content strategy, design, packaging, launch, and post-launch iteration.
• Develop innovative AI-driven visual and motion effects that align with TikTok’s global trends and user behaviors.
• Utilize internal AI video models and tools to explore new creative formats and interaction patterns.
• Focus on a user-first approach to help creators enhance content while ensuring creative quality and performance.
• Analyze performance data and user feedback to improve effects quality and engagement across markets.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to drive effects from concept to production and launch.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in design or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in visual, motion, creative, or effects-focused design.
• Strong graphic design and animation skills with knowledge of tools such as Figma.
• Experience or interest in leveraging AI tools to enhance design processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in AI effects, creative design, or short-form video content strategy, especially with TikTok or similar platforms.
• Established history of launching effects or creative works with notable visibility or cultural impact.
• Creative instincts for global content trends and an understanding of overseas markets.
• Hands-on experience with AI creative tools such as Midjourney, GPT, and others.
• Curiosity and agility in learning new AI technologies, especially in motion and dynamic effects.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position in San Jose is $110,934 - $242,640 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, and other factors.
