Job Description
The Write Direction is seeking a Freelance Search Specialist (SEO/SEM/GEO) for a part-time, remote role ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about helping businesses grow through search and paid media, as well as emerging AI-driven discovery channels. The specialist will be responsible for leading end-to-end search strategy, which includes balancing technical SEO, content optimization, paid search campaigns, and the use of AI-powered discovery channels.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Freelance Search Specialist include:
- Technical SEO & On-Page Optimization: Conduct technical site audits, optimize metadata, schema markup, and website performance. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is preferred.
- Backlink Building & Authority Development: Plan and execute ethical link-building and outreach strategies, develop internal linking structures, and perform competitor analysis.
- Content Optimization & Strategy: Conduct keyword research, search intent analysis, and content optimization.
- SEO Analytics & Performance Tracking: Use tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Ahrefs for performance tracking and translating data into actionable insights.
- AI Search & Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): Monitor AI-driven search trends to enhance visibility and content performance.
- Search Engine Marketing (SEM) & Paid Social: Plan and optimize paid search campaigns, including Google Ads and social media platforms.
Requirements
Ideal candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Technical SEO & Website Optimization: Proficient in optimizing site structure and understanding schema markup and Core Web Vitals.
- Backlink Acquisition & Outreach Strategy: Experience in developing white-hat backlinking strategies and conducting competitor analysis.
- Content & Keyword Strategy: Skills in SEO-driven content creation and keyword research.
- Paid Search & Performance Marketing: Ability to interpret key SEO metrics and experience with Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and other tools.
- SEO Data Analysis & Reporting: Expertise in Google Ads (optional but preferred), and managing paid campaigns across various platforms.
Additional skills include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, a minimum of 3 years of experience in the industry, excellent communication abilities, and experience with WordPress. Familiarity or experience with B2B clients is a plus.
