Job Description

This is a remote position for an “SEO / Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Manager” at a world leader in biotechnology and life sciences. The role is a long-term contract with the possibility of extension, offering a pay rate of $85-$87/hr on W2. Company benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid sick leave, and a 401K.

In this role, you will lead the evolution of organic discovery across traditional search engines and AI-powered answer engines (e.g., Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude). The role bridges SEO, Generative AI, and regulatory compliance, ensuring accurate, authoritative, and compliant information discovery for patients, caregivers, and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs). You will define and execute an AI-ready organic strategy, manage an external SEO agency, and partner closely with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years’ experience in SEO/Digital Marketing
• 2+ years in recent pharma experience with direct ownership of SEO execution
• Strong understanding of LLMs, AI search, RAG, and entity-based SEO
• Deep experience with Schema.org, Knowledge Graphs, and SEO tools (GSC, SEMrush, etc.)
• Proven experience navigating MLR/PRC review processes

Responsibilities

• Lead SEO & GEO strategy for AI and organic search visibility
• Optimize content with structured data, schema, and conversational queries
• Collaborate with MLR and web teams to ensure compliance
• Manage agencies and educate internal teams on SEO/GEO best practices
