Job Description

We are seeking a GIS Analyst/Programmer I to support asset-driven GIS applications and tools. This position will assist the GIS Coordinator in realizing a vision for optimal management of assets leveraging GIS technologies. Responsibilities will focus on department assets which are non-moveable, outside the building, and directly related to transportation infrastructure. Work will include developing data schemas, improving methods for data QA/QC, and troubleshooting. This position will be actively involved in creating web applications using the ArcGIS Online platform and provide expertise regarding the deployment of new products. Additionally, this position will create and maintain Python scripts, ArcGIS ModelBuilder workflows, and assist with automated tasks that enhance efficiencies for the GIS team and department staff who edit GIS asset data. A thorough knowledge of ESRI GIS technologies as well as familiarity with GIS programming languages are essential skills for this role. A solid understanding of and ability to use Python and Arcade is highly desired.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of experience in computer applications, programming, and analysis.
  • Two years of experience working with geographic information systems.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted and considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
  • One year of experience in GIS programming.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Experience with GIS data development, management, and analysis.
  • Experience with transportation, utility, or similar public service asset data elements.
  • Master’s degree in GIS, computer science, computer information systems, geography, or a related field.
  • Python experience.
  • Arcade experience.
  • SQL experience.

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
