Job Description

Dungeons & Dragons is seeking a dynamic Digital Art Director (Contract) to lead the visual direction and quality of the RPG and guide the versatile art that brings it to life. The ideal candidate brings experience in art direction, graphic design, and layout across digital and print media, paired with a passion for inspiring creative teams and collaborating across fields. This is an on-site role at our office in Renton, WA, requiring presence from Tuesday to Thursday.
What you’ll do
- Commission a high volume of artwork by identifying freelance illustrators for each piece, providing continuous art direction, and maintaining solid relationships with those partners.
- Maintain and report regular updates to the product architect and art leadership team on art status.
- Lead in-house and external illustrators in crafting concept art assets.
- Present creative direction and provide constructive feedback in meetings and cross-functional stand-up critiques.
- Work directly with the Head of Art and the product architect to craft an outstanding aesthetic vision for digital expressions of the D&D TRPG.
- Build processes to ensure art pipelines and design kits meet specifications for digital and analog expressions.
- Champion collaboration and integration between the art team and multiple other subject areas.
- Be a daily steward of visual quality on your products.
What you’ll bring
- 4+ years of commercial art experience in digital design; experience as a commissioning Art Director/Art Producer is a plus.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong creative vision with a cinematic lens.
- Understanding of Dungeons & Dragons as both a game and a brand.
- Current knowledge and familiarity with the fantasy illustration market/talent, and modern print/press techniques and processes.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in giving and receiving feedback.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate ownership over both conceptual and commissioned work, synthesizing game mechanics, brand knowledge, and creative goals into clear and concise direction.
- Adept in Adobe Photoshop, proficient in Illustrator, InDesign, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Additional Details
Please note that this is a temporary assignment providing services to Wizards through an external staffing agency. If selected, you will be employed by Eastridge as a W2 employee and will not be an employee of Wizards.

Compensation Range, Currency USD
- Starting Pay Range: $39/hour
- Pay Range End: $66/hour
