Job Description

Bodecker Foundation is seeking a reliable, skilled Freelance WordPress Developer to provide independent, contract-based support on an as-needed basis. This is not a staff position. We are looking for a contractor who can assist with periodic website upkeep, troubleshooting, and small-to-medium development projects as they arise. Our website plays a key role in sharing opportunities with young artists, educators, and community partners, and we value thoughtful design, accessibility, and functionality.

Scope of Work

• Ongoing maintenance of our WordPress site, including updates, security checks, and performance improvements
• Customization of WordPress themes and plugins as needed
• Troubleshooting bugs, broken links, and technical issues
• Implementing responsive design best practices across devices
• Optimizing site speed, caching, and database performance
• Integrating third-party tools or services (forms, APIs, event tools, etc.) when required
• Collaborating with our team to implement design or content updates on time
• Following best practices for version control and deployment
• Supporting basic SEO and accessibility best practices

Contractor Qualifications

• Proven experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites
• Strong working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript
• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL
• Comfortable working independently and managing tasks without close supervision
• Clear communicator with strong time management skills
• Experience working with nonprofits, arts organizations, or small teams is a plus

Engagement Details

• Independent contractor (1099)
