Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a Signals Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance signal processing software (e.g. detectors, demodulators, protocol processors). The engineer will work individually or as part of a team, review and test software components for adherence to design requirements, and resolve software problem reports. Responsibilities include utilizing software development methodologies, providing input on system design, and analyzing requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is 213K-220K (annualized USD), with salary determined by various factors, including education, experience, and organizational requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar programs and contracts OR 9 years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar programs and contracts.

Required Skills:

  • Software defined radio architectures (e.g. SCA, REDHA WK, or GNU)
  • Commercial wireless standards and geolocation techniques
  • Software configuration management tools (e.g. GIT, Clearquest, Trac, or Subversion)
  • Proficiency in Python, Eclipse IDE, Google Protocol Buffer, model-based design (e.g. Matlab, SIMULINK), service-oriented architecture, and Linux OS

Additional Qualifications:

  • At least 12 years’ experience as a Signals Software Engineer or equivalent, focusing on Radio Frequency (RF), including experience with Fourier transforms, filtering, communication theory, digital modulation, error control coding, and digital signal processing.
  • Four years of additional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
