Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Podcast Editor to elevate our audio content to new heights. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping compelling podcast episodes through expert editing, proofreading, and fact-checking. Your creative touch will ensure each episode is polished, engaging, and aligned with our brand voice. Responsibilities
- Edit raw audio recordings to produce seamless, high-quality podcast episodes that meet technical standards and creative expectations.
- Proofread scripts, show notes, and transcripts for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to AP style guidelines.
- Conduct thorough fact-checking and research to verify all information presented in episodes.
- Collaborate with hosts and producers to refine content flow, tone, and messaging for maximum listener impact.
- Manage audio file organization, metadata tagging, and version control using word processing and editing software.
- Incorporate sound effects, music, and other audio elements to enhance storytelling while maintaining consistency with branding guidelines.
- Ensure all episodes meet deadlines and quality standards before release.
Requirements
- Proven experience in audio editing, podcast production, or related fields with a strong portfolio of previous work.
- Exceptional proofreading, copy editing, and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Familiarity with AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and technical writing best practices.
- Strong research skills to verify facts and gather relevant information efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and providing clear feedback.
- Proficiency in word processing tools and audio editing software such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or similar platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Creative writing skills to help craft engaging scripts or episode summaries when needed.
