Job Description

Bodecker Foundation is seeking a reliable, skilled Freelance WordPress Developer to provide independent, contract-based support on an as-needed basis. This is not a staff position. We are looking for a contractor who can assist with periodic website upkeep, troubleshooting, and small-to-medium development projects as they arise. Our website plays a key role in sharing opportunities with young artists, educators, and community partners. We value thoughtful design, accessibility, and functionality—and we are looking for someone who can help us maintain and improve the site over time.

Scope of Work

• Ongoing maintenance of our WordPress site, including updates, security checks, and performance improvements
• Customization of WordPress themes and plugins as needed
• Troubleshooting bugs, broken links, and technical issues
• Implementing responsive design best practices across devices
• Optimizing site speed, caching, and database performance
• Integrating third-party tools or services (forms, APIs, event tools, etc.) when required
• Collaborating with our team to implement design or content updates
• Following best practices for version control and deployment
• Supporting basic SEO and accessibility best practices

Contractor Qualifications

• Proven experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites
• Strong working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript
• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL
• Comfortable working independently and managing tasks without close supervision
• Clear communicator with strong time management skills
• Experience working with nonprofits, arts organizations, or small teams is a plus

Engagement Details

• Independent contractor (1099)
