Currently, Litter-Robot leads the category, with plans to expand into an ecosystem that explores new possibilities for cats and their owners. The company is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and Juneau, Wisconsin, promoting collaboration and innovation among a team of over 700 pet enthusiasts.

The Staff Machine Learning Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of production-grade AI and machine learning models, managing the end-to-end lifecycle. Responsibilities include defining scalable AI architectures, implementing MLOps, and ensuring reliable real-world impact while mentoring other teams in best practices for AI-powered systems.

What You’ll Bring:

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of proven experience as a software architect with successful design and deployment of complex, scalable systems.
• Technical expertise in:
• 5+ years of experience with Amazon S3
• 5+ years of experience with DynamoDB
• 4+ years of experience with AWS Lambda
• 3+ years of experience with IoT Core
• 2+ years of experience with Timestream
• In-depth understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Expertise in Java, Python, or C++, particularly for complex software that interfaces with IoT devices.
• Experience in medium to large-scale, highly available, distributed production systems.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming concepts and system integration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using architecture modeling and design tools.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
• Project management skills with a history of driving projects to completion.
• A passion for industry trends and continuous professional development.
• Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships.
• Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs).

Not Required but Nice to Have!

• Experience with CloudWatch, AppSync, Relational Databases, Kinesis Stream, CloudTrail, API Gateway, Cognito or VPC.
