Requirements

• Proven experience in 2D animation with a strong portfolio showcasing character animation and motion graphics work
• Proficiency in industry-standard software including Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop), Toon Boom Harmony, and video editing tools like Adobe Premiere
• Familiarity with 2D software such as Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya or Unreal Engine for integrated projects
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or C# to enhance workflow automation or interactive features
• Solid understanding of anatomy, color theory, typography, and digital art principles to produce compelling visuals
• Experience with computer graphics techniques including illustration, digital art creation, and graphic design
• Ability to work independently as a freelancer while managing multiple projects effectively
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members across different disciplines

Duties

• Create high-quality 2D animations, including character movements, motion graphics, and visual effects that align with project goals and artistic direction
• Develop storyboards, animatics, and concept sketches to visualize animation sequences before production
• Collaborate closely with designers, illustrators, and post-production teams to ensure seamless integration of visual elements
• Utilize industry-standard software such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Toon Boom Harmony to produce polished animations
• Implement scripting in languages like Python or C# for automation or interactive animation features when needed
• Apply principles of color theory, anatomy knowledge, and typography to enhance visual storytelling and aesthetic appeal
• Contribute to the entire post-production process including editing with Adobe Premiere or similar tools to finalize videos
• Optimize animations for various platforms using 3D software like Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya or Unreal Engine when necessary
• Maintain organized project files using version control systems such as Perforce and adhere to deadlines efficiently

Additional Information

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.15 - $30.29 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Fairhaven, MA 02719
