Job Description

CNN seeks a temporary Producer to join the team of State of the Union with Jake Tapper & Dana Bash. The Producer will help generate unique angles and creative guest ideas for the program, write rigorous questions for the anchor, and contribute to growing the show’s digital footprint. This role requires working a weekend or extended schedule as the news cycle demands.

Requirements

• 3+ years of news production or related experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Control room experience required.
• Experience in show production and script review.
• Live line producing experience and handling breaking news is essential, with a proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong writing and production skills are necessary.
• Outstanding judgment, critical and strategic thinking, organizational skills, with the ability to be persistent yet diplomatic.
• Field and tape producing experience is strongly suggested.

Compensation

In compliance with local law, the disclosed salary range for this role is $71,400.00 - $132,600.00 per year. Actual salaries will depend on various factors, including market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and performance. Additionally, employees may receive bonuses, long-term incentives, and a range of benefits including health insurance, wellness programs, and retirement savings plans.
