Job Description
St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, a historically Black parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis, seeks a temporary accompanist to serve the congregation while it searches for a long-term music director. The accompanist will work with a volunteer choir and in collaboration with the interim pastor to lead a single service for approximately thirty individuals on Sunday mornings, using the church’s existing keyboard and PA system. A successful candidate can expect to work from approximately 9:30-11:30am each Sunday until the position is filled. The temporary accompanist will be eligible for hire as the long-term music director.
Requirements
- Proven proficiency in piano performance with strong sight-reading skills.
- Proficiency in a variety of different musical styles preferred, including formal hymns, gospel, spirituals, and contemporary praise music.
- Experience in Catholic or Episcopal traditions.
Compensation
Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
