Job Description

The Database Application Developer & Manager will design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance database systems to support key business functions. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams to deliver reliable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance database solutions to support mission-critical applications.
  • Optimize overall database performance through proactive monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—software engineers, data scientists, business analysts—to understand requirements and deliver efficient data solutions.
  • Lead and execute data migration and integration initiatives across diverse platforms and systems.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for database architecture, data modeling, and query optimization.
  • Implement high-availability, backup, and disaster-recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions related to database structure, scalability, and long-term system reliability.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members by conducting code reviews, technical training, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Stay informed about emerging database technologies, tools, and trends, evaluating their applicability to business needs.

Required Skills:

  • Strong expertise in relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
  • Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
  • Good understanding of cloud-based database technologies (e.g., GCP Cloud SQL, AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.
  • Experience with database performance monitoring and automated testing tools.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and integration tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data security, compliance standards (such as GDPR or HIPAA), and disaster-recovery planning.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
