Contractor Velocity Group - Videographer — Construction & Contractor Ad Content (Portland + Vancouver)
Videographer is needed in Portland, United States.
Client: Contractor Velocity Group
Location: Portland, OR
Contract: Freelance
Job Description
We’re a growth agency that works with concrete and construction contractors. We need a videographer in the San Diego area to film short-form ad content on active job sites.
Here’s what the job actually looks like:
- You show up to a construction site (concrete pours, patios, driveways, pool decks — real work happening).
- You film the contractor owner delivering short ad scripts (4 sentences — takes 15–30 minutes).
- You capture B-roll of the crew working, the project in progress, drone shots of the site, and finished work.
- You deliver raw footage. We handle editing.
Shoots are 1–2 hours. Currently project-based — expect 1–2 shoots per month to start, scaling to 4–8/month as our client base grows. This isn’t a one-off gig. We’re building a roster and want someone reliable we can call on consistently.
Requirements
What You Need (non‑negotiable):
- Nice camera (mirrorless or DSLR — phone won’t cut it).
- External microphone (lav or shotgun — job sites are loud).
- Gimbal / stabilizer.
- Drone (licensed for commercial use).
Experience (non‑negotiable):
- Experience filming on construction sites or outdoor work environments. You need to know how to move around an active job site, find good angles, and get clean footage without someone holding your hand.
- Comfortable directing non-actors. The people you’re filming are contractors, not talent. They’ll be nervous on camera. You need to put them at ease, tell them where to stand, coach them through short scripts, and get a usable take. Sometimes you’ll be running the shoot on your own without us on site.
What We’re Looking For:
- Reliable. You show up when you say you will. That matters more than a flashy reel.
- Local to San Diego. We coordinate shoots around contractor schedules — need someone who can be flexible on timing.
Application Process
How to Apply:
Send us:
- Your rate (per hour or per shoot).
- A few samples of your work — outdoor, construction, or small business content. Doesn’t have to be cinematic. We care about clean footage and good audio.
- Confirmation you own the gear listed above.
- Your availability for the first week of March (potential first shoot Mon/Tue/Wed Mar 2–4).
