Job Description

We are looking for an experienced food videographer for a restaurant shoot in Sherman, TX. The initial project involves an old-school Chinese buffet restaurant and may lead to additional projects with ongoing shoots over the next 6 months. Each shoot will last 5–6 hours and offer a rate of $1,000.

The videographer will receive a creative brief and detailed shot list and must be comfortable executing the brief and directing the shoot independently, as the team will not be physically present on-site.

Requirements

Deliverables: Approximately 110–120 vertical clips including food preparation, buffet stations, restaurant atmosphere, and several scripted shots. Clips will be 30–40 seconds max in vertical format. No color grading is required as it will be handled by our post-production team.

Required Equipment: Applicants must bring professional video gear suitable for food cinematography, including:

• Camera: Preferred includes Sony FX3, Sony A7S III, Canon R5/R6, or equivalent cinema/mirrorless cameras with strong low-light performance.
• Lenses: Fast lenses (f/1.4 – f/2.8) with typical focal ranges of 24mm–70mm, 50mm prime, and 85mm prime for close-ups.
• Stabilization: Tripod required for static shots, gimbal/handheld rig preferred for movement shots.
• Lighting: Proper setup is required, including softbox setups, portable LED panels, diffusers, and small portable lights for chef movements.
• Drone: Skills required for establishing exterior shots of the restaurant.

Assistant: Compensation for a lighting assistant can be discussed separately.

This role is only for videographers with food or restaurant shooting experience. If you have never shot food content before, please do not apply.
